Lisa Lee Anderson is a Senior Investigator for the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR). OCR is HHS’ civil rights and privacy enforcement agency. Ms. Anderson received her B.B.A. from Pace University and her law degree from Touro Law School. Ms. Anderson began her federal career as an Equal Opportunity Specialist in 2000 with HHS/OCR and became a Senior Investigator in 2016. In this capacity, she is responsible for investigating highly complex discrimination complaints in certain healthcare and social service programs because of race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex (gender), or religion. In addition, she is responsible for investigating Privacy and Security Rules complaints and breach reports based on the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and the HITECH Breach Notification Rule. James R. Schiffer, R.PH, Esq., received his Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy, Brooklyn College of Pharmacy at Long Island University, June 1973 and went to receive his Doctor of Jurisprudence, Brooklyn Law School, June 2003.Mr. Schiffer was the President of Jim & Phil’s Family Pharmacy Ltd., Brooklyn, NY, from May 1979 until November 2007. During this time he pioneered this retail pharmacy operation, from annual sales of zero to over 2.0 million dollars. He supervised the implementation of “Total Service Concept” to patients including disease management, drug information services and third party interventions. Mr. Schiffer is currently a partner at Allegaert Berger & Vogel LLP, New York, NY. This law firm works with trade and professional pharmacy organizations as well as business and health law issues. Mr. Schiffer has been an Adjunct Professor of Social & Administrative Sciences, Arnold & Marie College of Pharmacy, Long Island University, Brooklyn, NY, since 1987. During this time he has successfully developed curriculum and educational materials for a retail pharmacy management program, which increased professional expertise of students
