Presenter 1:
Jessica Anderson, PharmD, MPH
Owner, JAE Consulting Services, LLC and Network Facilitator, CPESN NY

Dr. Jessica Anderson is the owner of JAE Consulting Services, LLC and is currently serving as a Network Facilitator for CPESN NY.  In this role, she is assisting with oversight of programs with a network of community-based pharmacies that focus on providing enhanced services in collaboration with health care providers to optimize patient health outcomes. 

Prior to her current role, Jessica provided Medication Therapy Management services and was instrumental in the development and expansion of clinical pharmacy programs for Dialysis Clinic Inc. and Reach Kidney Care. She also has many years of experience in both community pharmacy and home health care.

Jessica earned her Doctor of Pharmacy at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and her Master of Public Health at the State University of New York at Albany. She also completed a two-year executive residency with the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations. 

Jessica is a member of PSSNY and has served on various workgroups and committees of several state and national pharmacy associations.  She has volunteered with the Medical Reserve Corps and has been a member of the ACPHS Alumni Council Volunteer Board, the Experiential Education Advisory Panel and served as a preceptor for both introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences. In 2011, she received the Pharmacists Mutual Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award.

Presenter 2:

Kara Smith, PharmD

Dr. Kara Smith received her undergraduate and PharmD degrees from the University of Connecticut. She spent 6 years working as a community pharmacist for Walgreens in Rhode Island. In 2012, she returned to her hometown, Alden, New York to serve as the supervising pharmacist at Alden Pharmacy.  Kara is currently working with CPESN NY in the role of DSMES Sustainability Program Coordinator and Billing and Contracting Assistant.

 

Kara is active in her local business community as a former Director and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, advocating for small, locally owned businesses.
