Carmela Avena-Woods has been practicing in community pharmacy for over 20 years, with over 14 years of teaching experience. In affiliation with her academic position as an Associate Clinical Professor at St. John’s University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Carmela serves as a preceptor and pharmacist at Walgreens in Garden City, NY. Carmela’s areas of interest are in immunizations, Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Carmela is a Board Certified Geriatric Specialist, Certified Tabacco Training Specialist and a trainer for the American Pharmacists Association’s Immunization and MTM certificate programs
