Describe the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and diagnostic approach to diabetic foot osteomyelitis (DFO) using IDSA and IWGDF guidance
Recognize microbiologic sampling strategies in DFO and their impact on antibiotic selection and de-escalation
Recall current literature regarding route of therapy and duration of treatment in DFO
Relate current evidence regarding antibiotic exposure prior to bone biopsy and its impact on culture yield
State evidence-based empiric and culture-directed antimicrobial regimens, including MRSA and Gram-negative coverage considerations
