APhA Immunization Training Certificate Program on zoom 2/10; 2/11 & 2/14/2022

February 10, 2022 to February 14, 2022

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, the live portion of this training will be conducted via zoom over two sessions Thu, Fri and Monday  2/10, 2/11 and 2/14  from  7pm until 9:30 pm.  Zoom invite to follow once you register.  Do not enroll if you do not want to participate in this way.   You will be required to be assessed on your own   by anyone who is permitted to administer vaccines by his/her scope of practice (i.e.- certified immunizer pharmacist, MD, RN, PA, etc.). This can be done any time after you register and up until Monday  3/7/2022.  We will send you the required forms when you register.

This site is for registration ONLY.  In addition to the ZOOM meetings, you will be required to pass the home study online (you have 2 attempts) and the final exam online (as well as the injection assessment as stated above)

After you register on this site, you will receive an email from us with the coupon code and directions to access the online learning tools. The e-mail should arrive no more than three business days after registration. If you do not receive the e-mail by then, call 718-488-1065.  Once you access the online course there are no refunds.

This course will provide a certificate that you will be able to print at home after completion. CPR is not required in advance to take this course but may be required for certification.

The home study MUST be completed IN ADVANCE of the 2/10  zoom call. The program consists of 2 parts: a self-study (12hrs credit) and a live training session (8 hrs credit). Participants are required to take exams at the end of each part and receive grades of at least 70% on both components in order to complete the course. APhA provides an Internet-based program for taking the exams using the website that will be accessible with the codes that will be e-mailed to you.

Virtual Training Consent:

The APhA Certificate Training Program hosted by LIU Pharmacy will be offered in a virtual format. (via zoom) Video Conferencing will be used to deliver the live session.

By registering for this program, you agree to participate in the live portion of the course by using active video and audio feed through your computer or mobile device. Additionally, you agree to complete the skills assessment – a form will be provided and instructions will also be provided if you receive assessment by someone on your own. Credit for completion of the certificate program will only be granted to participants who complete the self-study requirements, are verified as physically present throughout the duration of the live session, complete the skills process with a passing assessment, and receive a passing score on the online post-test.

This would satisfy the minimal requirements for pharmacists to immunize in most states.

We are a licensed partner with APhA in providing the Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certificate Training Program.

APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training program (14th Edition) is based on national educational standards for immunization training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  This practice-based curriculum represents a fusion of science and clinical pharmacy. The program, which emphasizes a health care team approach, seeks to foster the implementation of interventions that will promote disease prevention and public health.

The purpose of this certificate training program is to prepare pharmacists with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to provide immunization services to patients across the life span
