Emily M. Ambizas, Pharm.D., MPH, BCGP

Dr. Emily M. Ambizas is an Associate Clinical Professor at St. John’s University College of Pharmacy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from St. John’s University, followed by a General Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Veteran’s Administration New York Harbor Healthcare System. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

From 2007 to 2024, alongside her academic role, Dr. Ambizas practiced as a Clinical Specialist at Walgreens Pharmacy, where she focused on immunizations, medication therapy management, and self-care consultations. Earlier in her career, she served as the Clinical Coordinator for Ambulatory Care at Nassau University Medical Center. Her research interests include language access services in pharmacy for Limited English Proficient patients, as well as self-care and the use of nonprescription drugs. She is a Board-Certified Geriatric Pharmacist and is certified in immunizations and medication therapy management through the American Pharmacists Association.
