Description

Joseph P. Nathan is an alumnus of the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences of Long Island University, where he earned a B.S. in pharmacy and an M.S. in drug information. He completed a Pharm.D. at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. After six years as a clinical pharmacist at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, Dr. Nathan joined the IDIC as a drug information specialist. Currently, he is an associate professor of pharmacy practice at the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and the director of the College’s International Drug Information Center. Dr. Nathan is also the director of the College’s Pharmacy Student Computer Laboratory. His other professional accomplishments include successfully maintaining simultaneous practices in academic, hospital and community pharmacy settings as well as serving as a consultant pharmacist to a long-term-care facility. Dr. Nathan also served as an editor and a reviewer for a number of professional publications and has authored or co-authored many articles on issues affecting the profession of pharmacy. His research interests include drug information centers and services as well as patient drug-information literacy.
