Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
Define the pathophysiology of type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes
Describe the benefits and risks of antidiabetic therapies
State American Diabetes Association guidelines to patients’ clinical presentation
Identify treatment regimens for patients with type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes
Identify contraindications and safety concerns and offer appropriate alternative therapies to patients
State key counseling points for antidiabetic medications and supportive equipment
