I have been in academia my entire career. I started my career at St. John’s University in 1988 and taught in the areas of pharmacokinetics, critical care, nutrition, drug induced diseases, infectious diseases, gastroenterology and fluid and electrolytes to Doctor of Pharmacy students.  I also taught pharmacokinetics and pharmacology to Physician Assistant Students After my retirement in 2017, I went to Stony Brook University and taught Physician Assistant Students in the area of infectious diseases.  I most recently have been teaching at Notre Dame at Maryland School of Pharmacy in the area of pharmacokinetics, nutrition and fluid and electrolytes.

The majority of my publications are in the area of critical care and pharmacokinetics.

My clinical practice has been primarily in the surgical intensive care unit where I dealt with kinetic, infectious disease and nutritional issues. Over the past two years, my clinical practice has been at the Stony Brook World Trade Center working on a covid vaccine clinical trial and working in the clinic seeing 911 responders; addressing patients 911 related health issues and working with the nutrition team
