Dr. Jingyang Fan is the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and a Clinical Associate Professor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) School of Pharmacy. Prior to joining SIUE, Dr. Fan served as an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Southern Nevada (now Roseman University). Dr. Fan received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and subsequently completed a pharmacy practice residency (PGY-1) at the University of Kentucky, where she also obtained a Certificate for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. As Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Fan oversees development, implementation, and assessment of the curriculum. She has spearheaded the implementation and training of several instructional technology solutions at SIUE, including the development of the Clinical Training Center and incorporation of simulation software in skills labs, interprofessional simulations and performance-based assessment (PBA). Dr. Fan enjoys outside the box thinking and utilizing technology to streamline workflows. Dr. Fan has been a member of various AACP SIGs for many years. She currently serves as the Chair-Elect of the Technology in Pharmacy Education and Learning (TiPEL) SIG. Dr. Fan has presented on several topics at AACP meetings, including the use of online evaluation forms and QR codes in student assessments, as well as the evolution of PBAs at SIUE. She has also presented on using simulation and performance-based assessments to enhance student communication skills in a regional teaching and technology conference as well as an international webinar.
