Bennett Doughty, Clinical Assistant Professor, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP

Bennett Doughty grew up in Winthrop, Maine, and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in 2016. Following graduation,

Doughty completed two years of residency training at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, Conn., specializing in psychiatric pharmacy.

Doughty joined the Binghamton School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2018 as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. He also serves as a clinical psychiatric pharmacy specialist at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., where he has created an integrated outpatient psychiatric clinic within primary care. Doughty is the program director of the Binghamton University Opioid Overdose Prevention Program (BU OOPP), a state-sponsored program that supports the training and distribution of the opioid overdose reversal agent, Narcan, to the University community. He is also the director of Binghamton University’s and SUNY Upstate Medical University’s Rural and Underserved Service Track (TRUST), a co-curricular track that aims to provide our students with unique, interprofessional experiences working with underserved populations throughout New York and Pennsylvania. Doughty is also a Community-Engaged Teaching Fellow, recognized by the Binghamton University Center for Civic Engagement.

Sara A. Spencer, Clinical & Scientific Liaison, PharmD, MS, BCGP

Sara A. Spencer is originally from West Nyack, N.Y., and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her interest in individualized patient care and improving therapeutic outcomes led her to pursue a Master of Science in Pharmacy with a concentration in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) from the University of Florida. She went on to complete an accredited PGY1 Managed Care Pharmacy residency at the Capital District Physicians Health Plan in Albany, N.Y.

 

Spencer is currently the CNS Clinical & Scientific Liaison for Otsuka where she covers the educational needs for Upstate/Western NY.
